Everyone deserves a bloody good education about what happens in their body every month, and through their life. This gift funds the essential work that goes into making our menstrual education sessions happen. It pays for a qualified medical facilitator to lead the sessions, aids collaboration with women’s groups to identify specific needs, recruits more facilitators to meet demand for our sessions, and monitors and evaluates the entire programme, so that we can continually improve it.

£70 will cover the time a medically qualified facilitator spends prepping for, delivering and following up, one of our vital sessions, which caters for 15 attendees. This is a very (very) reduced rate for a medical professional, and ensures the sessions are top bloody quality. So your donation would be very (very) welcome.

Or you can cover the total running costs of one our vital education sessions. We collaborate with local women’s groups and identify attendees’ specific needs; we create tailored content for each session; we continue to recruit facilitators to keep up with demand for our sessions; we pay for participants’ and volunteers’ travel costs; we hire a venue (or have Zoom costs of course!) - and we monitor and evaluate the entire programme, so that we can continually improve it. This all costs money too, and you can cover a whole bloody good education session with a donation of £181.

£181 reflects the average costs of running one session, per attendee, and comprises:

  • Our Programme Manager’s time to organise and deliver the individual session and the overall programme, £128

  • Evaluation Consultant, per session, £32

  • Facilitator, per attendee per session, £5

  • Venue/Zoom costs, participants’ travel costs and volunteer expenses, per session, £16

This gift covers the costs of the very best kind of Santa’s grotto — the kind filled with essential period products for those who need them!

A key part of our Covid19 response is our Take What You Need scheme. Based at our storage unit — the marvellous Safestore in Alexandra Palace, London — this is a place where individuals and groups can access the period products they need. It’s been a key part of how we’ve distributed nearly 60,000 packs of products since the start of lockdown in March.

Safestore very kindly donate 25 square feet a month, but we need a *lot* more than that to meet demand. Moving forward, we also need to ensure that, when it is safe for our volunteers to return to the storage unit, we make their safety paramount by providing them enough space to work safely. Your donation can help make it happen.

All you have to do is click to choose your gift and you'll be redirected to our Festive Period donation page.

HOW WE SPEND YOUR MONEY

Period products: your donation helps us bulk buy products (getting great discounts while we’re at it) and deliver them to where they’re needed, all over the country. We find that we are overwhelmingly asked for disposable products, and where requested, we include eco-friendly products in that. We also distribute menstrual cups, reusable pads and period pants to anyone who requests them. Your donation helps to pay for our expert staff too, who make all the logistics and bloody good stuff happen.

When you make a Festive Period donation towards period products or storage costs, your money will go to our main operations fund - helping us cover all the costs involved in distributing vital period supplies. This makes sure we have the flexibility to respond to ever-changing demand and circumstances (hi there 2020).

Your Education donations will go towards the overall costs of our Education programme.
